Pennies for Pasta

On Wednesday afternoon, the gym was filled with students learning about white blood cells which fight germs and red blood cells which grab the oxygen we breathe in and carries it to all parts of the body and provides energy, and platelets which work in our body to gather together and keep blood clotting when injury occurs. All three play such an important part of the functioning and health of our bodies.

Then it was explained how Leukemia can come in as the bad guy and cause the white and red blood cells and platelets to have great difficulty functioning. When leukemia comes in, these bad guys keep the good cells from working.

To the rescue comes a hero- Captain Chemo- to help.

Mustangs will be collecting Pennies for Pasta to help children who are suffering with Leukemia. Please help fill the Pennies for Pasta boxes that were sent home. Pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars can be placed in the box and the box can be turned in to your child's teacher. The winning class with the most money collected over the next two weekswill receive a free lunch from the Olive Garden. Thank you for your support.
