I have been employed with Burke County Public Schools since 1991. I began my career at Rutherford College as a Before and After school director. During this time I earned my Associates Degree for Western Piedmont Community College. I transferred to Lenoir Rhyne University and earned my Bachelors Degree. I earned my teaching degree from Lees-McRae College. I began my teaching career at WA Young and taught at Mountain View and Mountain Crest. During this time I was encouraged by my co -workers and administration to go back to school and earn my masters degree. I completed my Masters Degree in School Administration in 2009 from Gardner Webb University. In 2006 I achieved my National Boards in Early Childhood as a Generalist. In 2012 I left teaching and became the assistant principal at Freedom High School. I felt blessed to be a leader in the school that I graduated from. In 2014 I completed the Future Ready Leaders program. In 2015 I was named principal of Mull Elementary School.
My husband and I live in the Salem community. I have two daughters, a son, and two grandchildren. I love spending time with my family, cooking, playing games, and working outside.
